What about this itinerary ?
 

Its my first time in Thailand with my wife so we intend to visit much places as possible. I organized my trip as below:
Jan 08 - Arrive in Bkk at 21:00 and go to Manhatan Hotel Sukumvit soi 15

Jan 09 - Private tour with a guide to visit temples and a Ping Pong Show at night at PatPong district

Jan 10 - Visit Bangkok by our own and dinner at Loynava boat at night

Jan 11 - Tour to Ayuthaiaya by train on our own without a guide and return by boat.

Jan 12 - Visit the Bangkok by our own

Jan13 - Private tour with a guide to Floating Market, Kanchanaburi, River Kwai, Erawan Falls, Tiger Temple

Jan 14 - Private tour with a guide to Weekend Market and Shopings

Jan 15 - Fly to Chiang Mai , arrive at 9:25. Suringwonse Hotel in front of Nigth Bazzar. Visit temples inside the city and Dói Suthep by our own

Jan16 - Private tour with a Guide to Golden Triangle – Laos, Myanmar, Mae Sae border, Chiang Sean, Hill tribes (Karen Long Neck / Long ear / ahka / Black Lahu / Palong)

Jan 17- Private tour with a guide to Elephant Camp, bamboo rafting, Orchids, Butterfly farm, Woodcarving, umbrela, silk

Jan 18 - Private tour with a guide to Doi Inthanon Park, estupas etc and Khan-Toke dinner at night

Jan 19 - Visit the Chiang Mai Zoo in the Morning an depart to Krabi at night

Jan 20 - Ao Nang Princeville resort . Rent a boat visit some islands and Railey beach

Jan 21 - Four islands tour for snorkliing

Jan 22 - Go to PhiPhi in the morning and enjoy the beach. Andaman Beach Resort

Jan 23 - Kaiaking tour in the morning and scuba dive in the afternoom

Jan 24 - Rent a long tail to visit Phi Phi beaches

Jan 25 - Enjoy the beach in the morning and return to Krabi in the afternoom.

Jan 26 - Enjoy the beach and return to Bangkok at 17:50 to take our flight back home

Just a couple things that quickly caught my attention -- You have an awful lot planned for Jan 13. It will be a very long day. And Jan 14 - you do not need a guide for the weekend market or shopping. You can easily do those things on your own using the sky train or subway for transportation. You might, however, consider a driver or guide while in Ayuthaya because the ruins are spread throughout the town.

Can you tell me who you booked for your tour to the Golden Triangle on Jan 16? We are going to Thailand in December and would like to do the Golden Triangle as well.

Other than that, I think your itinerary looks good. I agree that a tour guide for Ayutthaya would be a good idea.

I have to agree that Jan 13 is too busy. The River Kwai is a good part of the day. The floating market is a bore, with people in boats selling stuff. Schedule it for another day if you can't fit it in.

Get a Skytrain to Sala Daeng for the night market at Silom which leads to Pat Pong. It gets very crowded so watch your valuables. Bars will have men with boards outside advertising ping pong shows, etc.

Get a Skytrain to Mo Chit (last station) or subway to Chatuchak Park and then follow the crowds to the market. Expect to walk miles (literally), so take comfortable shoes.


How about the Grand Palace and Wat Arun? Is that Jan 9th? Get a Skytrain to Saphan Taksin (last stop) and walk towards the river. You'll see all the other tourists there waiting for the river taxi. It goes about 20 stops for 18 baht. Get on and off when you want.

The Skytrain and subway are easy to use. just watch everyone else. Taxis are very cheap, and metered in bangkok.


Shopping MBK at national Stadium Skytrain stop and nearby Siam Square across the road. Don't miss Ocean world in the Paragon Centre. Lad Prao (pronounced Lat Pro) is a good shopping mall a taxi ride away (cost me about 120 baht). From the Grand Palace, Pinklao shopping mall is a short taxi ride away, the other side of the river. Make sure you see Chinatown which has lots of shops, alleys and 2 big markets.
