What about Thailand in August?

I am wondering about Thailand in August? where should we avoid? Considering going there for 3 weeks in August next year. I understand that it will be monsoon time but August is really the only time we can travel (summer holidays for us).

There will be 12 of us travelling together with kids (ages 6-17 yrs).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sue

ps. I had originally asked about Vietnam but also want to look into Thailand.

Not all of Thailand is rainy in Auguist. If you want a beach area, you'll want to be on the Gulf of Thailand side, Koh Samui, perhaps.

There are lots of weather sites on the web, I usually use www.weatherbase.com The trick is you have to check each location you are interested in visiting, as there are several monsoon systems that operate in SE Asia.

hawaiiprinceresorts.com

JW Phuket or zolitude.com great but LOTS of rain...
