What about Casa del Mar on Langkawi

Hi

My wife and I are still looking for the perfect place to spend some days on Langkawi in March. What about the Casa del Mar? I would like to hear Pros and Cons. On asiatravel.com it does not have a star rating it just says BOUTIQUE. What is that?

Regards
Gard

I was wondering the same thing. There are lots of positive reviews on Trip Advisor.

I stayed there for three nights and loved it. It was quiet and stylish (spanish) and relaxing. Of course it doesn't offer too many facilities but that makes it serene, so it's best for couples but not for children. As I always prefer hotels with a little bit of character to big chains, my opinion may be biased. Personally I love Thailand more than Malaysia, and had I stayed in a big hotel, I'd like Langkawi even less.

I have never stayed but it has been around a long time. I like the Pelangi when looking for a large class place and the opposite scale somewhat the Langkawi Village which is I guess 2 star but very easy and friendly, it realy depends what you want and what your budget is.

JamesA, the Pelangi is getting a lot of mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. People are mentiong "tired" and "worn" a lot. What's your take on that? As you know, we may end up spending a night or two on Langkawi.
