weather in Southeast Asia April/ earlyMay
Considering a cruise that goes to Bangkok, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. The cruise ship would be air-conditioned. Wondering if this is doable at this time of year. This is the only time this particular cruise is offered, and it goes to the places we want. We are not sure about the weather...we'd be on tours..many in buses..
Related to this, are restaurants, buses, etc. air conditioned? Need some input on this whole topic. Thanks. |
in thailand, april is the hottest month of the year... may is less so

I'm in Bangkok at this time of year every year! Yes, it's sticky hot and very humid; but that doesn't stop me. Air con is my friend!!!

Here is the weather site I use: www.weatherbase.com
In the highly developed places, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, there is air-conditioning in subways, skytrain, restaurants, malls, etc. In VN you'll find less air-conditioning, but still major places have air conditioning. Frankly, a cruise is not a great way to see this part of the world. If you know where you want to go, why not visit those places not on a cruise. This part of the world is very easy to travel in has great tourist infrastructure (other than VN which has only fair to good tourists infrastructure) and reasonable prices outside of Singapore and Hong Kong. |
I think your cruise sounds fine. If it is a first time to S E Asia, this will give you an introduction to the various places you visit. After making that trip, hopefully you would decide to return. You can narrow down the places where you'd like to visit again, and this time spend a bit more time. Cruises don't stay very long in each place. But I love unpacking ONCE and seeing lots of different scenery!! You get used to your cabin and the food choices on board. Go for it!
