Looking forward to pictures of you sitting in a lounge chair sipping bordeaux and a wild typhoon swirling around.lol.
Keep dry |
Hahahahahaha, Hawaii, I am ROFL over your "westin Moments." Yes, I LOVED those bathrooms at the Westin in Ebisu. You are right, I held court in the bathroom every morning w/coffee (once I figured out where the coffee pods were and how to work the machine), planning the days activities til son woke up- and the bathroom was big enough for me to bring a chair from the hotel room into it! And that whole hotel is just so perfect.
Don't forget to go to the Ebisu Beer place across from the hotel, at the end of the shopping area closest to the subway station (on the left if you are going from hotel to subway). Man, just the thought of you at that Westin is making me smile. |
Give us an update on the typhoon when you can...
we have not heard from lucy??
ut oh, now I am worried. Hope Lcuy is ok...
just heard from lucy, she is in newark....she may be stuck there for the nite, depends on flights
Stuck in Newark?? My heart goes out to lcuy.
Working in a hospital, there is a lot of macbre humor. I remember a flyer advertising a lecture entitled "States Worse than Death" below which someone had written "New Jersey?" |
so lcuy couldn't get into Japan due to the typhoon?
Hawaii, what the heck does "FREE THE MONKEY GOD" mean?
no, she did get there as i understand it
She was just delayed getting out of Japan because of the typhoon.
emd3-I suspect "Free the Monkey God" refers to a previous mishap involving a Fodorite named after a monkey god from the Ramayana.
emd, Yes, gpanda has it right, it was a personal campaign to show the "love" to one of our regulars.
Just a short note to say that we did stay dry in Hokkaido where we were and the typhoon was just a one day rain event but as we have seen on the TV it did wreak havoc and destruction from Okinawa thru Northern Tohoku. Hope our Japan fodorites fared as well as we did! Glad lcuy and Milt made it out ok. New Jersey :-D Just made it into Sapporo and have three nights here. Will go to Otaru tomorrow so Linda can get her sushi fix. Aloha! |
Well were back and back to work, ugh. I am so behind the 8 ball at work but slowly catching up ;)
