VPN while in China
I’m heading off to China for a potential business partnership, and I read that I need a VPN to access Google and particularly Gmail as I will definitely need to reach my emails. I believe all of this probation is called the Great Firewall (sounds scary). A lot of services seem to be banned, but I managed to find this article which shows VPNs that are NOT blocked over there. It's supposedly updated every week.
Does anybody have any knowledge if this information is correct and up to date? |
I don't know any of the VPN providers being promoted in this article, but I do know that WiTopia still works in China.

I use ExpressVPN which is considered as one of the most reliable. Not working 100% of the time though.
Two ways to deal with the gmail issue. Open a Hotmail email account and forward your gmail messages there. Or, if your phone has a US SIM and you can roam cheaply (like with T-Mobile) then sites are not blocked. |
