volunteer work

I am looking to do some volunteer work in Thailand. I am hopeful that someone has had a great experience or can steer me in the right direction. Thanks, Stacey

try www.jobabroad.com or www.escapeartist.com or just do a search for volunteer internship abroad and you'll get lots of sites.

Steer clear of any operation that expects you to pay, some charge more than 3-star hotels for a bunk bed and some basic food.

I also am looking to volunteer. I've noticed that jobabroad, goabroad, escapeartist, all involve pretty hefty fees.

I did volunteer work many years ago in several countries and I never paid a cent! I received basic accommodation some spending money and food in return for help/asistance. I cannot get the drift of these organisations that charge people.

James, did you just go and find opportunities once overseas, or did you go through an organization before you left your home country? Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.
