Visa for Laos arriving via Hanoi

Thanks to this great fountain of knowledge you all have, I have found out that I can get a visa online for Cambodia. We will be flying from Hanoi to Luang Prabang & I'm wondering the best way to get a visa for Laos.

Laos has consulates in Hanoi, Danang and Saigon. Getting a visa should be pretty straight forward. Mine came overnight (n Danang)

You can get a visa on arrival at Luang Prabang airport if you are from US, Cananda and EU countries. You must have US$ and two passpoer photos. Sorry. can't remember the exact cost, but it is in the $20-30 range.

Thanks WeiLong & Kathie. I should have said we are travelling on Australian passports. We are visiting both Saigon & Hanoi before heading of to Laos fortunately.

Oh, Aussies can also get visas on arrival at the airport in LP.

Lst year e felw from Hanoi to Luang Prabang via Vientiane. In Vientiane we had to transfer from the International to the Domestic terminal. You get your Visa on arrival at the International terminal. It was pretty easy and the staff are relatively helpful and seem used to everyone being confused. You need to take a couple of passport photos with you to get the Visa.

Thanks Kathie & Anna sounds pretty easy.

I'm planning to join a package tour to visit Luang Prabang (2 nites) and then Hanoi (1 nite). I'm from Hong Kong. Any problem foreseen in getting landing visa in Laos?
