Yes, Kathie, that could have been an option - except until about a half hour ago I had no tracking numbers.

Good news is - I just got two messages from C&K with Fed Ex tracking numbers for both our visas. Supposed to be here by tomorrow end of the day.

If that works out as they say, I will be a big fan of C&K - as it will have only been four days from drop-off to delivery at my home.

Both our passports with 10-year visas attached arrived today.

Took less than four full days from the time we dropped them off at C&K in San Francisco to home delivery (we live about 80 miles from the city).

Interesting about the marriage license. When we filled out the forms online, they (the forms) asked if we had ever changed our names (paraphrasing here), so we listed my wife's maiden name of 49 years ago.

This presented no problem getting the visas, no marriage license was required, no additional information was requested. Perhaps they ask for more in person than they do online.

Les, it was the same for me, as I filled out the same forms that you did online, the only difference is that we presented them in person at C&K. The C&K clerk just said it might be possible that the Indian officials would ask for that proof of marriage. Apparently they didn't. Could be that's a sticking point if there is anything they don't feel comfortable with regarding grandparents' origins?

I was surprised at some of the questions - particularly the ones regarding religion. There certainly was no place for indicating "non-religious!" I just went ahead picked Christian, although that would be a stretch.

I'm just happy it's all completed - seems as if it would have been fine to send in the forms rather than make an appointment to bring them in, but it all worked out in the end ... and we had a little overnight mini-vacation at a Union Square hotel in San Francisco, too!

I am confused (along with lots of other India travelers) about the Evisa process. We are doing India and Nepal in Feb. I have completed, but not submitted, the online ETv form. In that form there is a box for "number of entries". The drop down box allows for single, double and multiple entries! Does anyone know FOR SURE if this can be used for India and Nepal (returning thru India). It sure is a lot cheaper, faster, and safer than using a 3rd party or going to the embassy.

Indian visa on arrival operates almost the same as Vietnam visa on arrival. you have to apply online for approval in advance to get visa stamp at arrival airports. The application must be submitted at least four days at up to 30 days in advance of your visit to India, and once you arrive you can only stay in the country for 30 days.
