visa for hong kong
 
I will be traveling to China soon and have a Chinese visa. Just wondering if I have a chance to go to Hong Kong, do I need another visa of the Chinese visa will cover it.

what is your nationality? Americans do not require a visa for Hong Kong

Are you American? If so, then you do not even need a Chinese visa to visit Hong Kong or Macau, which are considered special zones. What I can't tell you if a visit to one of those would require you to have a multiple-entry visa to China in case you need to go back in for a flight home.

Not really a HK visa, but a 90 day entry stamp regardless from where you enter HK. Can go back and forth between HK/Macau/China on multiple entry Chinese visa, till Chinese visa expires. From HK to Macau same rules, no problems at Immig.
