Vietnam- when to go to avoid the rain?
As the title says, I'm wondering what time of year is best to visit Vietnam & to avoid the rain.
I'll be visiting Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City over about 10 days (no I can not add any time to my trip, nor can I change the itinerary). I don't mind heat or humidity as much as rain, I hate rain. I've seen conflicting information on the web, but I was thinking of going in August, September or October- which month would I have the highest chance of avoiding rain? Thanks! |

Different areas of VN are affected by different monsoon systems. So check each location you want to visit. |
Thanks! Already been to the website, I was hoping to get some feed back from people who had been to Vietnam (all parts!) during these times.

should be October . this month will be better for you!

December and January seem to have the least amount of rain in Hanoi. Would anyone recommend against that timing for any reason?

December and January are cold in Hanoi. Of the voices, I'd go in October.

Cold is relative. We spent 19 days in Vietnam beginning in late Jan.(Hanoi to HCMC). The temperature varied from the high 50's in Hanoi to the low 90"s in HCMC. The only day it rained was when we were on Halong Bay. I think late Jan-early Feb. should be fine, though there are never guarantees when it comes to weather.
