vietnam - overnight in Ha Long Bay in January?

Has anyone taken an overnight trip in January with one of the boats around Ha Long Bay? Was wondering if it's too cold for overnight that time of year.

Hi Loc,

I did thousands of trip to Halong Bay at this time of year and yes you are right as it can be very cold at the end of January, the beginning of the month may be not too bad. I'm still like it though as scenery, fauna & floral looks different to other time of year.

Cheers!

It's cold, about 18Celsius. You can't not swim but still ding other activities such as kayaking, trekking, cave visiting.

We were there a couple of years ago at Tet. It wasn't too cold.

We were there in January. It was chilly but not super cold. If you're not looking to swim I'd still say it's enjoyable. We loved going in the caves there. Also, our junk was very cozy and warm - maybe before booking make sure yours will be heated.
