Vietnam - March - attire for women?

HI.....

What is appropriate clothing for women for dinner in upscale hotel dining rooms in Vietnam?

During the day, with the heat and tourist attraction walking, do you see more ladies wearing slacks, shorts, or skirts?

Thank you!

I don't recall seeing anyone in shorts when I was there in November. Slacks (or capris) or skirts are both common.

If the shorts are longer, they'll be okay. I think capri length or skirts are a little better. You can get by with nice, but casual clothes in most nice places, unless its a really trendy hot spot!

Don't assume that heat will be an issue in places like Hanoi in March. In Saigon in late March, yes. You need to tell us where you will be to get precise advice.

If you have dinner in upscale hotel dining rooms in Vietnam, you can wear as you do in upscale hotel in other countries
For your attire in sightseeing day, you can wear slacks, shorts, or skirt.. any which make you feel comfortable.Just notice that, if you visit pagodas or the Ho Chi Minh Maosoleum(in Hanoi), you should not wear shorts or skirts. You should dress formally.

In March, the weather in Hanoi is still cool. In other provinces, it is not so hot, donot worry. March is very nice time for visiting Vietnam.

Have a nice trip!

We 've been traveling around VN for about three weeks. We are in Hue right now and it was 95 degrees, yesterday it was close to 90. We r heading south and I have been following the weather and the forecast is 90's. So for me it has been hot in the central portion and I imagine also in Saigon and thereabouts. It was cool in the north.

Have not seen any shorts, but lots of Capri length pants.
The other night we ate at LaResidence in Hue, a very upscale hotel restaurant. Most women were dressed very casually with cotton slacks and various types of tee shirts. I saw one women in a dress.
