Vietnam+Laos+Cambodia
Hello, Fodorites. It's been very silent on my side for the last two months because I had a lot of things to handle, no time left for daydreaming, preparing and modestly advising on trips. I'm back in business.
Planning a trip towards the end of 2005 to Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Was originally planning to do the trip second half of Nov. Can I move it forward to October and still have the weather on my side? What is the earlies period I can do this trip, without being in sorry and rainy weather conditions? To give an idea, the itinerary is in broad lines as follows: Bangkok-Luang Prabang- Vientiane- Hanoi - Saigon HCMC - Phnom Penh - Angkor - Bangkok. Thks |
i would not go before oct 15 and the nearer to nov 1 the better
|
The later the better. But there are no guarantees. I went to Vietnam in late November/early December twice when it rained every day and went a third time in late October when it was gorgeous.

VN&LAOS&Cambodia is a money trap. Visa and airport fees (Cambodia) and cuthroating intercountry air tickets will make YOU POOR .
An hour one way flight from HCM to Siemreap is $120. Siem Reap airport fee is $25 a person. |
Last October (mid month) in HCMC it rained every day. However, there was always a break in the rain. We spent 3 days on Phu Quac Island late October and had mostly beautiful weather with the rain limited to early morning and late afternoon.
Friends in Nha Trang had rain also during the same time period. |
You're email was from May and I'm curious to know how you made your plans? I too am trying to plan a trip for October. It would be great to hear what you decided...
