Vietnam Halong Bay Day Tour
Can anyone give some travel agencies that do Halong Bay 1 day tour from Hanoi that is good and cheap ?
Please don't recommend Handspan as I heard enough complaints of their prices that are 3 times more expensive.
Thanks

hi,
It is good to hear what the public say about the price of a travel agent (Handspan). However,I respectfully suggest you check and compare the prices among them yourself. It is not so difficult to do it.
There are many travel agents in Hanoi who can do Halong Bay 1 day tour such as Open tour (Sinh Cafe), or New Orient Tours,Vina Sunrise Travel, Indochina Tours...In My opinion, the cheap one is Open Tour ( You may be in a group of many people), The good and reasonable maybe vina sunrise travel( It is a new one).

you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend Handspan - they were terrific (and not 3 times more)!
If you need a wonderful guide while in Hanoi: Hong Phuong [[email protected]]
He goes by the nick name Smiley, and is one of the nicest fellows you could ever hope to meet.
Check out the LP Vietnam forum and do a search on his name & you will see what I mean. Would use him again in a second.

Hi Simpletravelling
Check out Griswalds. They're a bunch of Australian Expats living in VN and they run a slick cafe and tour buisness. I've heard some good things from them and they are responsive by email.
Their website is
http://www.vietnamvacations.com.au/
ALternatively you can check out www.vietnamstay.com which is mentioned quite a bit in this column

No, I will not trust Vietnam info from LP Forum. They only promote Handspan and alway tell members "you get what you pay" but why should I pay more ?
I know there is a conspiracy there between the moderators and and some members only to promote Handspan. I don't trust that forum.
Handspan is the most expensive for the same tours, I will not pay them for it.
