vietnam and cambodia

i am traveling to vietnam and cambodia this february. how do i get visas for both countries before i leave the usa. I was told that it cost $250 per person for a visa through a travel agency. Can you please advise on the easiest and cost effective way to get these visas and how long it does it take.

The links below are for visas on arrival, more convenient than getting them before you leave the US.
Vietnam:

Cambodia:

Note that the Vietnam visa is not really "on arrival". You have to apply in advance and they will give it to you at the airport.
$250 is ridiculous. I think I paid around $85, including postage & handling for a mail-in visa. It took about 10-14 days for it to be processed.

Cambodia's is truly a visa on arrival. You fill out the forms as you are landing and they approve you in the immigration line. I didn't even have real visa photos-just printed poor quality pictures from a computer- and they still let me in!

Oops, a bit of confusion here, both from me and from Icuy. They do call the Vietnam visa a VOA; but the website provided for Cambodia refers to an e-visa that you get in advance. You can, however, get one on arrival. I agree that the costs are wildly overestimated.

I got my visa on arrival in Cambodia... very easy, took all of 5 minutes at the airport, cost $25. For Vietnam, you can apply in advance and pick it up at the HCMC or Hanoi airport. I've heard some say the line can be long, particularly in HCMC. I got mine through the embassy in advance. You can get the application on their Web site, fill it out and send everything in. Cost $70, I believe, and took about 7 days, mailbox to mailbox. $250 is ridiculous.

Where do you arrive first? If cambodia first, get your visa on arrival (20$) at the airport. Then get your Vietnam visa through an agency in PP (1 day wait $40)...

We got our online visa approval letter from myvietnamvisa.com it cost 19.99$ then at either Hanoi or HCMC airport you pick up your actual visa which costa another 25$ some people have said that they had to wait a long time for the visa at the airport but it took us only about 20 minutes, which was a lot quicker than it took to get our luggage (90minutes)
