Kathie, I called my GP's office and one other. They both gave me the same reply..although it took awhile to get it out of them. Neither give travel shots..even those they have on hand. The final reason they provided was that they were not experts in travel medicine and had been advised(by insurance I am sure!) not to give them in case they missed giving a needed vaccination. They told me it was safer to go to a travel expert. Health Dept has not yet returned my call.

Mincepie, thanks for pursuing that. You're right, it does sound like they are responding to a liability issue.
