Using Agoda (and other booking engines) with Children?

Using Agoda (and other booking engines) with Children?
Before I booked hotels for a trip in January in Bangkok and Singapore with Agoda, I wanted to get some feedback on whether anyone had booked while travelling with children?
We have two children (aged 2 and 4), but there is no way to note this in booking and I know some hotels limit one child to the room.
Having communicated with the properties, their message is that it is fine if one is in a crib and the other on a pull out couch, but I do not want to book through Agoda without specifying this and face issues upon arrival.
Is it better to use a travel agent? Any help would be appreciated. I last used this form in planning a trip for my wife before we had kids and it is nice to see some familiar monikers here!

If you have communicated with the hotel and are confident that the room can accommodate 4 and the hotel allows it, I would go ahead and book online, but then follow-up afterword again with the hotel via email and have them note in the reservation that there are 4 people. I would only go through all that hassle if the online savings were significant, though.
I feel your pain - most search engines return nothing if you put in 2 adults/2 kids - and yet when we travel, the hotels are full of families of 4, 5, even 6!

Hello, I have gone through the exact same experience. My two kids are 6 and 9, and they need quite a bit of space. I end up booking serviced apartments most of the time, because they're much bigger and also contain amenities like a kitchen to eat in when the kids are too tired to go out for food, and washing machines for everyone's dirty laundry. So if you book serviced apartments, you can avoid the whole 'child limit' issue. Depending on which part of Bangkok you're staying at, I recommend Fraser Suites Sukhumvit. I stayed there once a few years back, booked through Agoda, just make sure you book the room with the right size. The place is really nice with good restaurants and neighborhood.

Thank you both. The hotel was the Shangri-La and they were sold out of the suite for the dates we are in, but I was able to book through Agoda. BangaloreExpert, I did exactly as you suggested and it worked out well.
