Unique Map & Guide to Tokyo

Spotted today at the large Kinokuniya Book Store at Takashimaya Square in Shibuya: From Edo to Tokyo: Travelling through time with a 200-Year-Old Map. The concept is simple: they’ve reproduced a large Edo era map and superimposed railroad lines with an accompanying guidebook to twenty Edo shrines, temples, gardens etc shown on the map which can be visited today. It’s in English but I’m not sure it’s available outside of Japan. Nice introduction to Tokyo for anyone who believes there are few areas of the city that post date WWII.

CORRECTION: obviously meant 'Nice introduction to Tokyo for anyone who believes there are few areas of the city that PRE-date WWII!" Sigh.

That sounds very interesting - I can't find it anywhere online - neither the Japanese Kinokuniya nor Amazon sites...and I found the ISBN number....maybe I'll find it in Japan....

Try this: http://www.mediapal.co.jp/book/9101/index.html But yes, seems easily available at any bookshop in Japan with English-language section. Also at hotel bookshops as it is marketed as a souvenir.
