undecided libra needs help: 3 hotels in Bali!
Hey Guys... I'm staying 11 days in Bali and this is what I've looked up so far: 3 days in Amed beach in secluded north side of the island, drive up one hour and stay 3 days in the Sacred Mountain Sanctuary( eco- resort) in Sidemen, and 5 at The Bali Spirit hotel in Ubud, I'm traveling solo for special birthday gift !!!. hey janine, if no one is anwering your post, you should try this website

http://www.travelforum.org/bali/index.html

it's relating to all things bali travel. i've been doing alot of research on it for my trip and have found it really helpful. also, people are more likely to answer your questions there if they are about bali.

when are you going? i am leaving with my bf on wednesday! hope you have fun!

josie

Can anyone tell me what being a libra has to do with anything?
|
Fran,
It just means that any decision Janine makes won't be based on logic.
|
being a libra...means being enchanting, fascinating, good taste... but very indecisive, because one can see every side of a situation and it very hard to make a decision that way...janine

I've been to Bali 3 times and think your itinerary sounds wonderful...all the beautiful interesting places!!! Only suggestion I would make would be to stay near the airport for the first night...easier on the psyche and the body. I love the Intercontinential...
Best place to stay in Ubud is Pita Maha. On par with Amandari and Four Seasons, but better located and way less expensive. We visited 3-5 all the above and some other top end resorts, and without hesitation Pita Maha is the best. See if you can get in, since it started to make quite a name for itself. Food is expensive at the hotel, but INDU down the road a bit , is spectacular and way reasonable. Have fun

One more thing about hotels....the "cheaper" hotels, meaning around $7-20/night are charming and often have a wonderful pool and great meals. Our place in Ubud, one of the more expensive ones, was $17/night for two and was a huge room, patio, large marble bathroom with tub and shower, breakfast and a beautiful pool and friendly Balinese staff. It's almost difficult to search out expensive places and they lose the authentic Balinese feel. The Balinese have a real talent with decorating, often it's just one flower floating in water with a few rocks...something I've started doing at home. You've picked some wonderful places to visit in Bali, skip Kuta and Sanur (except for maybe the first night)...
