two days in Bangkok

Here is what I'd like to do on my first two full days in Bangkok, but I can't decided which things would be best to do on the first day with a guide, versus ones that I could easily do on my own. This is our first trip there so I don't know where anything is or how easy it is to get to them. Here is my current plan.

24th- Grand Palace - Wat Phra Kaew & Wat Pho- massage at Wat Pho, - Jim Thompson House and outlet
25th Floating market (7-11am) - afternoon klong tour to Wat Arun and Royal Barges and flower market

Thanks!

they both look good, but i don't think you will make it back to bkk until about 1 PM from the floating market

rhkkmk,
I'm new for here, i know you're very helpful person for fodorites. I need your help for my next trip to Vietnam too.
Do you know about Royal Barge Museum? my BKK guide told me that it's going to be closed soon. Have you heard about that?

Wow, that would be a real pity. We went there last year during golden week and loved it.. these huge, glorious barges tucked away in what is basically a dedicated boat warehouse. It was like they were waiting for their golden days to return.

i have not heard that, but maybe it is closing to get ready for the king's ride down the river in may or june for his celebration....others may answer this for us...

do a seperate posting and people will see it and you will get an answer from one of the bkk fodorites, like michael or jamesA
