Trip to Sri Lanka

In September, me and a couple of my friends from graduation decided to take a trip to Sri Lanka. There were no fixed plans that we had made - only that we wanted to visit beaches and go to Adam's peak.

So, as soon as we got down at the Colombo airport, we made our way to Unawatana beach, situated 6 kms from Galle. It was a nice quiet beach where we spent our first day chilling out. The next day, we decided to head northwards towards Hikkaduwa, which is a more happening beach and during tourist season, is known as the best place to party.

After spending a couple of days on the beaches, it was time for the trek to Adam's peak. It was a very foggy day and the trek is not a very easy one. The nearer we got to the top, the lower the visibility became. Our weak fitness finally caught up with us and we decided to return a couple of kms from the peak.

The last day was spent chilling out in Colombo - where we did some shopping, visited the Premadasa stadium and also went to the Marine Drive.

Hi, abhij,

thanks so much for your TR and link to your blog. We were lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in Sri Lanka last September and we had a terrific time, including a few nights in Galle which we loved.

we were there at the same time as the T20 tournament and went to a game in Kandy which was incredibly exciting.

hope you get the chance to go back and see some cricket there soon.
