Trip to My son from Hoi An

Hi everyone: Can I book My Son when I reach my hotel in HA. Does the hotel book it or is there a traveller's cafe in town, please give me name and address. What is the cost of the tour. Would it be better to get a private english speaking guide instead of a tour-also would the hotel book this for me, at what cost. Thanks. Alana

There are places all over town offering the tour. You can arrange a car and driver (don't know about guide) through your hotel. Go early or late to avoid the tours. I think I paid $10 for a car and driver, but don't remember exactly.

Thanks for your help. How much is a tour with an agency anybody and are they all the same price. Thanks. Alana

It's just a few dollars, and they're all pretty much the same. If you take a tour you'll get some shopping oportunities on the way back.

We used Millennium Travel in Hoi An for the trip to My Son. We decided on the luxury way, with car, driver, and guide. It was very interesting and cost about $26 for about 3/4 of a day. The tour would have been much less, but the tours were going to be about 40 people and we really wanted more in-depth explanations, more time at the site, and no shopping. We learned a lot from the guide about life in Vietnam, too. Millennium Travel was a few blocks west of Le Loi Street, but I don't know the address.

Don't expect too much from the My Son area. The ruins are "ruined" so to speak! It's still an interesting half day trip. You can do it by motorbike with a driver.
