I wish we had gone to Langkawi instead of Batang Ai. To Mr Jack and Air Asia, a pox on their houses.

Hi Laurie,
Thanks so much for this report. We have just discovered this website. We booked a flight to Sarawak today ( for April and not on Asian Airlines). We have been researching the hotels, trips etc. for a while (in particular the Hilton Kuching and Batang Ai).We had thought that there was maybe not a lot to do at Batang Ai. Your information is so useful aand confirms what we had already suspected. We have just returned from Laos-beautiful place, wonderful people.Well worth considering if you like the Far East. Luang Prabang (north eastern Laos) is particularly fascinating. We have written a couple of reports on our travels there on www.epinions.com ----type in Luang Prabang or the Plain of Jars where it says search, if you are interested. Happy future holidays. Thanks again for the detailed information. Gill & Tony. |
GillandTony, I'm so pleased that you found my report helpful (and that you took the time to read it!) I would say to skip Batang Ai, I certainly wish we had. You will love Kuching however, a very lovely place and the Hilton was great. Try and stay on the club floor, it's worth the extra money.
We've been to Laos, we were in Vientienne and Luang Prabang a couple of years ago. Really loved it and want to go back. |
