What a fabulous report, such great tips. We are counting the days to our trip in mid-October. Thanks again.

Hi Bob -

Will certainly give the Pansea a go another time - it looks lovely.

Re restaurants in LP -- I don't think that the Nagas owns the other restaurants but the Management of the 4 restaurants is all done by L'Elephants owners - I think they are different people and just manage the restaurants - thats L'Elephant and Cafe Bat Van Sene that are owned by L'Elephant and both 3 Nagas french and 3 Nagas Lao are managed by them. There is a certain amount of overlap between them with food but the quality is excellent in all. L'Elephant being the most upmarket and the Cafe definitely a cafe but very nice.

Could be wrong about ownership but thats how I understood it.

FromDC - have a great trip - I know you'll love it - have you decided finally on where to stay?

The Cafe Bat Van Sene is a little further down "Falang Way" towards the centre of town - ie just down from the Nagas and 3 elephants and opposite Wat Sene which is on the block next to Villa Santi.

I agree that 3 Nagas French is perhaps the least successful of the 4 restaurants. The Lao one is very good and I like the Cafe for simple and cheap food - the coffee is the same as in the others (and good) but substantially cheaper!
