Thanks again for a most informative and educational trip report, Cold. It was thoroughly enjoyable to read, and it provided some very practical advice.

You're to be commended for embarking on such a daunting journey with your (huge by Chinese standards!) family in tow. The question mark about whether you had 'a great time' will soon be replaced with cherished memories of of 'a great trip'.

JazzDrew - China is an amazing place to visit. I will never forget pulling up in front of the Forbidden City on the airport bus. It was hard to believe we were there. Have a great time.

Mr. Cold - thanks for pointing out your trip report. It's a good read.

Surprised that about the staring in Shanghai... what with it's British history and all, you'd think westerners would be old news.

The size=right of way thing is something I totally get from travels elsewhere. It's not right! But try explaining that to the oncoming truck. I trust you've since overcome the indignity of it all.

Cold - time flies - I can't believe it was 2008 when you went on this trip!

Since then, our family also got to Beijing this past October. I loved visiting China even though for just a brief time of 5 days. I hope to get back there someday...and to some other parts of the country.

Where are you and the gang headed to next?

We are headed to the tuition poorhouse
