Thanks, Kathie. When one looks at the inclusions, especially the food, drinks, plush cabins and on-shore excursions, it was bloody brilliant!

I looked into Pandaw cruises several years ago when we planned to go to Burma. I'd love to do the one on the Irrawaddy. Unfortunately, the junta was behaving exceptionally badly at that time and we cancelled our trip after they attacked ASSK's entourage and killed a number of people. While I still dream of doing the Irrawaddy trip someday, I will certainly consider the Mekong trip.

Your report on the staterooms made it seem like the lower cabins were the way to go... I take it the sitting areas outside the higher deck rooms were in public space?

The sitting spaces outside the upper deck rooms are in a public throughfare, but generally it is only used by the passengers on that deck. There is ample public seating area on the massive sundeck, where there are whicker chairs and sun lounges.

The lower staterooms are cheaper, larger and cooler, but have the same facilities as the upper deck staterooms. Most on the time you are either on the sundeck watching the scenery, taking part in a shore excursion, or eating in the dining room.

Even the people on the main and upper decks rarely used the chairs outside their stateroom, as the sundeck is better, and venue for the all-day complimentary tea, coffee, bottled water and drink station.....

Mitch, thanks for your clarification about the staterooms. I really am thinking about this cruise - maybe for next year!
