trip beginning
 

Well I'm in the Swiss lounge at Kennedy which is what thai air uses. Had no problem checking my bags all the way through to Chiang Mai although the fact that none of the ticket people knew the airport code for Chiang Mai did not instill enormous confidence. Now I just want to get on the plane and get there. Ann left yesterday on Cathay -- left 15 hours before me and is due to arrive only 4 hours before me. We'll meet in Chiang Mai. Poon is picking us both up and I'm looking forward to seeing her again.

Hi Gloria, Hope the JFK-BKK is great---I'll be on it on the 3rd and my friend is also flying Cathay Pacific into Bangkok,leaving the night before I leave and arriving 6 hours earlier! A long ride for sure but the convenience is worth it. See you in Chiang Mai and look forward to hearing your adventures! Kathy
