Any opinion as to theses two hotels?

Both are very good. The Trident Agra run by the Oberois offers great personalized service. They have two types of rooms. One is garden facing and the other is pool facing. The pool facing rooms imo have better decor. These are slightly more expensive. The restaurants offer excellent meals. The buffet is quite lavish but you could always take a la cart. The bar is well stocked. While there you can request the hotel staff to arrange for the Golf cart for your trip to Taj Mahal. They are very cooperative and why not do this trip in style! But remember, you will need to go to the parking of Hotel Oberoi Amar Vilas to get one. I would rate Trident Agra as 4+ star.
Lake Palace Udaipur is of course an icon, by the Taj Group. It is one of their flagship hotels and you shall enjoy every bit of your stay and every rupee spent on it. The moment you hit the Taj jetty on Lake Pichola, you will feel class hospitality! When you arrive by boat at the hotel, you shall be escorted under the crimson ensign of the rulers of Mewar to the reception. The rooms are fabulous and the restaurants befitting a kingly sojourn!!
