Travel Report Turkmenistan (Ashgabat - Gas Crater - Konye Urgench)
we've visited Turkmenistan in May 2017 and we did a little travel report to maybe inspire you... it's in german, but with a lot of nice pictures for those, who don't speak German

I really enjoyed reading this. We were just there, and had almost the exact same experience - at the airport, in Ashgabat, at the border in Dashoguz, everything. Glad to know we aren't alone.
