Travel Journalism

I am an independent documentary photographer based in Bombay.
Through September, I will be shooting in Goa. Is there any journalist or travel writer here looking to collaborate with a photographer?
There are many wonderful things about Goa worth documenting.
You could have a look at my website... http://www.gyrax.net/ and email me through there.
Look fwd to talking to you.

Yeah it's tough trying to get the package together, I know so many very good photographers who don't have the knack of writing; and so many travel writers who can't take good pics.
I freelanced for 15 years in Thailand, mostly for the BKK Post, fortunately I'm a reasonably good photographer and I know how to put together an informative & entertaining article, so I could operate solely alone, but so many of my friends had to team up with others.
Have you considered doing a writing course? It's not difficult to master the techniques of short story/feature writing and with today's word processors the task is easier.
Anyway, best of luck with the feature.

I'm not too bad at writing. It's just that I'd rather concentrate on the shooting.

Thanks anyway, TexasSlim.

What gear are you using? My latest toy is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30, 8MP with Leica glass. In the old days I used Canon EOS but I been totally digital for the past 5 years.

Hi TexasSlim

just a quickie question - what kind of articles did you write for the BKK post - travel ones?

TexasSlim Aug 6th, 2006 06:20 PM

Mostly travel features & holiday destinations, many cultural pieces too, topics like manora, temple art, Thai black & white magic, virtually anything I came across that I felt would make interesting reading.
