Lidboy, cochinkerala is Jenny's travel help affiliatiated with her homestay "Le Royale" There are posts above about it here (eg Dec 5) The travel arm is called Fourens Travel (after her kids, whose names all begin with "N")
Jenny is a delight, and i did make some enquiries of her. What made me not go with her, and likewise, with another homestay owner who ran a similar type of travel help/homestay where we stayed (Gramam, in an area too far outside Ft Cochin) was that they had not actually been to some of the places they recommended. For me, this was important--what did YOU personally think of it?
You are going to get, from many homestay owner, recommendations for family-run homestays run by relatives, etc I am not saying they aren't great...but objectivity MAY be lacking, and this should be taken into consideration with any recommendation, anywhere
Le Royale is NOT in Fort Cochin. That may or may not matter to you. See comments made above re: Le Royale
Apologies to Julie S for the typos in that Dec 7 posting.
There is apart of my sentence that should say I recommend that you do NOT stay outside of the Ft Cochin area--we did and regretted it. There are night time activities there, eg the Kathikali Dance, that you will probably want to see, and being outside that area at night is, IMHO, unnecessarily inconvenient
