Travel Agent Recommendation?
 

Hey everyone.

I'm looking for a travel agent to set up a pair of tickets from here in the US for travel over to Bangkok.

I can't, for the life of me, find good flights or good prices. And I'm very flexible in my airports, dates, etc....

Can someone recommend a travel agent I can contact via email?

I never use travel agents to book my flights from the US to Asia. I find I can get the best prices from the airlines themselves. Where in the US are you flying from? We can give you ideas of which airlines to check.

what do you consider good rates?? usually about $1000 from east coast...

on the west coast people often talk about travel agents in thai communities in LA for good rates...

Hey there. I'm flying from Detroit (DTW). I had a flight for $850 a few weeks back, but I lost the email and contact info.

I'm going for 5 weeks. Pref. from Sep 1- Oct. 6. I really need to get away soon. I'm so desperate for a good fare that I'll gladly paypal someone $15 for their help.

suggest you try orbitz, as the site will let you view various date options all at once. It might take some time, but play around with various date combinations. Sometimes the difference of just a day can save big$.

Also try the various airline websites directly (as Kathie mentioned)...it surprised me, but they are often cheaper than expedia, etc.

from detroit the natural is northwest with direct service through tokyo and then on to bangkok...call their office...

I would not rule out a travel agent. They often deal with Consolidators and can beat an airline's price, especially agents who deal in that market. Travel agents will also advise on proper documentation required for travel to foreign destinations. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of one in the U.S.

I agree that the airlines have the best deals. I just booked the trip with China Air through Taipei from LAX. The economy fare was about 800. They are partners with Delta so you might be able to do alright with a Delta flight to LAX. I also looked into Eva Air which was a little cheaper but I ended up getting a 2 for one business fare on China Air.
