Transportation Kyoto Osaka
Does anyone know of a person or service to meet us in
Kyoto Station in October and get us to our hotel? Car optional. does anyone know of a person or service who can get us from our hotel in Kyoto a few days later to our Osaka hotel? Car optional. Thanks! |
This company can probably provide both services (not inexpensive):
Taxi | MK Limousine & Taxi Service, Kyoto | Japan (mktaxi-japan.com) |
You Might be able to Uber. Uber to Kyoto station and train to Osaka and taxi to your Osaka hotel is not difficult.

Uber, ok. Of course, if no taxi stand at hotel then the staff can just call a taxi.
The "car optional" makes it sound like they would want someone to hold their hand for the trip - IOW a guide. Makes me wonder how the OP is getting to Kyoto Station in the first place. Maybe airport bus? Meeting someone at the station could be tricky when just following the signs to the taxi stand would be simple. FAIK the Kyoto hotel could be the Granvia or walking distance from the station. |
Why not just taxi to the hotel in Kyoto? I do it all the time when in Kyoto. There's a taxi stand at the station.
As for Kyoto to Osaka, I've used MK service, but from one of the airports in Osaka. On my first trip to Japan (2017), I took their small shuttle van service from the airport in Osaka to Kyoto as I had arrived into Osaka late at night due to flying from L.A. to Narita and then changing airports and flying on to Osaka. I have also used MK at other times, but can't remember my routes, but those weren't from an airport. When I go from Kyoto to Osaka and back to Kyoto, I take the local train which costs the equivalent of about US $5.00 ( last time in summer 2019) although there are faster and more expensive trains. If I were you, I'd just ask your Kyoto hotel about a train ticket and then taxi from the hotel to Kyoto Station and take the train to Osaka Station and in Osaka taxi to the hotel. It only takes 14-30 minutes to take the train from Kyoto to Osaka. If it's the Shinkansen, then it's 14 minutes, but much more expensive. Happy Travels! |
