Transportation from the airport to Royal Orchid in Bangkok

We will need to get from the airport to the hotel and a taxi will not work as there are 4 of us with luggage. (we travel light, 1 smaller bag apiece but I don't think we'll all fit??)

Would a limo be a fairly reasonably priced way to transport ourselves?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can arrange for a van to take you. We hired one on the spot, at our arrival. I don't recall which company it was. The cost is "negotiable" as they wanted 1400 baht and we offered and paid them 1000 baht. A pre-arranged one would have been less, maybe? I think the pre-arranged limos suggested here are more, however.

We've used AAC Limo in the past for this exact trip. They are reliable. Do a search on this forum for contact info.

Just take two taxis. Cheaper than van or limo.

We have fit four of us in a taxi many times, although we've had to hold our carry-ons on our laps. Four samll suitcases will fit in the trunk.

Otherwise, you can get an SUV (about 1000 baht) at one of the many booths in the airport after you clear immigration.

I contacted ACC through their website and it was 990 BHT for a one way ride to the hotel. (your get a discount for 1 way)

"Mercedes Benz 200 4 people Max"

thats about $36. for all four of us
thats reasonable right?

how much do you tip the driver and do they meet you at the gate or at luggage pick up or ?

Tip the driver 100 baht, if you want. They will have a sign with your name on it as you exit customs. It's easy and you will be whisked to the ROS.

Yup, that's the standard limo price. I've often used AAC and have had good experiences with them.

jasper, last trip to Bangkok, I remembered just as we were leaving for the airport in Seattle that I had forgotten to book AAC. I sent them an email, then checked my email from Narita. All was set, and they were there to meet us at BKK.
