Transportation from Saigon Airport

We will be arriving in Saigon late at night exhausted & jet-lagged after a LONG flight. We liked having a car service waiting for us in BKK to take us to our hotel - avoids the hassle of finding & negotiating for a taxi. We used the car service Bob recommended. (Can't remember the name) Any similar services for airport to hotel in Saigon?

Am guessing you are on the United flight that arrives at 10PM or so. The taxis at SGN are extremely easy to find. There are a bunch of them there because they know that flight is arriving and there will be customers. I was probably the first one on my flight to get outside. There were people on the left and right waiting for pax and straight ahead were waiting taxis.

There is no real need to negotiate, the price is going to be $5 or $7, IIRC.

Might be harder to find the driver with the sign with your name on it. I know I never saw Poon when I arrived in Chiang Mai. Wasn't told that Ratt's husband was meeting me at BKK and I certainly didn't see him.

I remember a really hectic scene outside the airport but maybe it just appeared that way to me because it was my first stop after arriving in SE Asia. I am also interested in the taxi situation. Will it be a straightforward pre-determined price or do they use meter?

just go to the taxi desk inside the airport and you prepay there. We had no problems and prices are really cheap.

That is great news. Thanks!
