Transportation
Help!! my friend and I are visiting Malaysia for 2 weeks in July and don't have any idea how to plan transporation from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highland, from the Highlands to Georgetown and from there to Langkawi and back to Kuala Lumpur. We thought flights might be the eastiest but can't find the right info. Any advice
Thanks

We Wound up taking the bus from Kuala Lumpur to the Cameron Highlands. Fortunately in the small town before the Highlands we were able to secure a driver and car the rest of the way up the mountain. I was glad we did not have to travel the rest of the way by bus. Then we nmet a young lady in the Highlands who worked for a company in Penang. We rode with her. The roads on to Georgetown are good so I would think you might a rent a car and drive it. Bus except rent a car or rent a car and driver seems to be the best way to get to the Highlands and then leave from there. Not sure about the rest of the trip mentioned. If you skipped the Highlands it is possible to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.

think maybe hte person above was a little fragile, got a bus the whole way there and it was absolutely fine, it takes a while but the scenery is amazing - make sure you pack lots of snacks!
Don't think flying there is an option at all.
I went everywhere by public transport and it was great, everything ran pretty much on time and it was all very cheap - i'd advise paying a little more for air con transport though.
Fly from Penang to Langkawi - very very cheap and also fly back to KL from Langkawi. So, you've got to experience a bit of bus travel on your way to the Highlands!
email me if you want more info
