Transit in Bangkok
I'm looking for a transit rider who can answer the following questions:
---it says you can buy a one day pass at a BTS Ticket Office---it sounds like this is an actual booth or office as opposed to the machines where you buy the one time passes---anyone know where they are? ----does a one day pass include all lines: BTS, BRT, MRT? and what about the Chao Phraya Express? It shows the map on the transit map but is it on the same ticket? As in, can you transfer on any and all of these? Also, does anyone know anything about the Bangkok Smile Bikes?? Thanks! |
The BTS, BRT, MRT and Chao Phraya Express Boats are separate entities, requiring separate ticketing. There is talk of a combined pass in the future, but nothing yet.
The only place I know you can pick up the free bikes is at Pinklao bridge, just north of Thammasat University. There is also a tourism office there, where you can pick up all sorts of useful information. |
Most of the BTS platforms will have a manned kiosk where the passes can be purchased.

This blog describes the free bike pickup locations and the routes.
