Transfer from Phuket to Holiday Inn Phi Phi on our own or have Holiday Inn arrange it?

According to the website www.phiphi.phuket.com/schedule.htm, the ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi is 600 Baht per person and includes transfers to the pier from Kata, where we will be staying in Phuket. The Holiday Inn sent me a transfer schedule and price list that shows the transfer from Phuket to the HI costs 1,400 Baht. Is there something extra that the HI is offering that costs the additional 800 Baht? For example, would the ferry on our own drop us off at a pier and we would have to pay for a longtail boat to get to the HI?

Some ferries dock at Tonsai Bay, which would require a longtail trip of around twenty five minutes to get you to HI. Any ferry arranged by the hotel will anchor in the bay by HI and longtail from the hotel will collect you.

It sounds like having the HI arrange it would be more convenient, but if we decided to go on our own, about how much is a longtail from Tonsai Bay to the HI, and would this take a lot longer to get to the HI?

It takes around 25 mins by longtail from Tonsai Bay to HI. Cost will be around 400baht. You might also need to take your luggage through the village to Loh Dalum Bay which is where most of the longtails are. Tonsai side of the isthmus is deep water and where the big boats dock and Loh Dalum is shallow where you find longtails and fishing boats. It's only around 500 mtrs, but if you have much luggage it can be a pain.
For the extra 800 baht, I would definitely do it through HI.
