Denise<BR>I assumed that you are going to buy a ticket for an overnight train, so the agency askes you to pay now. I don't know whether or not you are in the hurry, because there are many services during the daylight time for bkk to ubon by train, and you don't have to book far in advance except you are going during the new year holidays (29th dec to1st Jan).

following on from pats reply a little further info, train tickets in thailand may be purchased up to 60 days before departure not before, they must be purchased and paid for in person at the train station, therefore the company you are using must send someone to the station and purchase the ticket for you, thats why they want payment from you a.s.p. then its between you and the company just how the tickets are got to you, to have them sent by DHL delivery to the UK costs an extra 1200 baht on top of the price of the tickets but they will probily deliver free to your hotel in downtown bangkok, i hope this helps, les

World Travel Service is one of the three major tour companies in Thailand with tour desks in many of the hotels (the others being Tour East Travel and Turismo Thai). All three have been in business for a very long time and all are highly reliable.

many thanks for all the reply's. But it seems that I am going to just wait till I get to bangkok. world travel service have come back to me requesting payment, but they do not have a safe credit card internet site and are unable to do a bank transfer, something about this costs to much and takes to long. we will be travelling to wat pah nanachat from bangkok on the 4 january so hopefully it will not be so busy anymore.much metta
