Traditional performing arts in Japan - February 2011
With Kabuzi-za closed for renovation into 2013, I know I'll be hard-pressed to find Kabuki performances with English language earphone guides in Tokyo. Any recommendations for other performances (Kabuki, Noh, Bunraku, Takarazuka, rakugo, etc) to see in Japan over the next couple of weeks? I'll be in Tokyo 2/10 thru 2/14, Nagoya 2/15, Kyoto 2/16 thru 2/18, Hiroshima 2/19, Matsuyama 2/20 and Osaka 2/21, and would like to have enjoyed at least one theatrical evening performance in Japan before I return to the U.S.

Those two should get you started. In Kyoto, there is a tourist performance at Gion Corner, too.
