Tourist Visa
Has anyone obtained a tourist visa on their own without being part of a tour group? It would be great if you could explain the procedure. Thanks in advance.

A tourist visa for which country?

I just found your other post about VN, so I assume you are asking about a VN visa.
There is no requirement to be part of a tour groups to get a VN visa. I live in the US, and filled out the VN visa application (which can be located online and printed for you to fill out) and sent it to my nearest VN consulate which for me is in San Francisco. I enclosed passport photos, my passport and a money order for $65. Wherever you are located, check the VN embassy website for your country and follow the instructions. |
i also sent the completed visa application to the embassy in washington dc and it came back in less than 14 days...just follow the directions very carefully...i sent it regular mail and had the post office weigh all the envelopes and papers for the return postage and i just added maybe 50 cents to it...

I too just got visas for Vietnam. One interesting sidelight.....the forms for procuring one from the embassy (Washington DC) are different from the forms at the San Francisco consulate --- the fees are also different! When I asked why, they couldn't answer.....Anyway, San Francisco as of two weeks ago was $45 per person and the embassy in DC was $65. We went with San Francisco and the turn around was less than a week.
