Tour stops in Myanmar (Burma)?

Does anyone know of a tour that includes Myanmar? I've heard it's a fantastic place to visit.

I am topping this in the hope that someone will reply... I have often wondered about Myanmar myself.

Pacificdelighttours has a tour package to Burma. www.pacificdelighttours.com.
I was born in Burma and now live in TX.
I've spoken to them about Burma in general and they seem pretty knowledgeble about Burma. Hope his help. Burma is a very fascinating place to see and visit.

Thanks, Sandy. I had a look at the website and saw the tours which include Myanmar. Is it feasible to arrange one's own independent entry into Myanmar and then organise a tour locally (the package tours don't allow much time to explore the backroads, do they)? Are there (as in Vietmnam, for instance) travel agents waiting eagerly for the budget traveller like myself? Thanks for your advice... it's nice to have contact with someone who actually comes from Burma!

Alan,

Go to www.myanmars.net and click on travel and scroll down andd click on Yangon (local operator tours). or try
www.symphony-myanmar.com (they usually have good price). There are too many local tours to choose from.
If you decided to visit Myanmar, then you must visit Bagan city. Beautiful pagodas and temples to see.

Thank you, Sandy, I have visited (and bookmarked) both those recommended sites, and my mouth is watering already. I think you have provided the "acorn" from which our future overseas holiday will grow. And thanks to Marilyn, also... I didn't mean to "take over" your post, honest!

Marilyn -

FYI - Last month's Conde Nast had a very long feature article on Myanmar with emphasis on the lovely beaches and islands in the southern part of the country. CN always provides detailed tour, hotel, dining info near the back of the magazine on all the areas profiled. You could probably go to the website and get some of this same information.
