Tour Operator

Planning a trip to China. Looking at the following tour operators: General Tours; Pacific Delights; Ritz; and Cathay Pacific. All go to the same destinations I am interested in. Any experience with these companies will be greatly appreciated.

Go over to Frommer`s message board, asia section. They have a lot of discussion on those tours.

I used Pacific Delights this month and was pleased. I thought our guides were excellent, and that I received a good value for what I paid, so I would happily recommend them.
There were 21 of us in our tour, I think we all felt that hotels exceeded our expectations. Meals provided were unremarkable, but tour groups from various companies were in the restaurants so I'd expect much of the same average food at lunch from all of them. The excellent guide that was with us trhoughout the trip made the trip a success.

The guides lead trips for different tour groups, according to schedules, so don`t pick by that. We had exellent guides in Beijing and shanghai, so pick the trip you like best, and go for it. I enjoyed the food in Chna.

We did 19 days with Pacific Delight Tours from April 14 to May 4, 2007. There were 21 of us any everyone was very pleased with this first class tour. Hotels were all outstanding, our US guide, Dr Herb Fong, is probably the best guide in China. Look at their red tour.
