Tour in China and Vietnam

Do you have recommendations on which tour companies are reliable with good services? I experienced a tour with a local company in Hong Kong. It was a nightmare!,,
Thanks

Are you committed to taking a tour? Many of us have had very good experiences with independent travel. Look for our trip reports.

Might be worst than HK. No need for a tour company to visit Beijing. If you really want help, just hire a (cheap) private guide. find one on www.synotrip.com

I also wouldn't take a tour. Both countries are easy to do independently.

Also, if I wanted a guide I'd wait until I was there and hire one on the spot.

It's very easy to travel independently, just do some research beforehand about where you want to go,and sort out some local guides. After communism went bust in Vietnam and China, the guides are very happy to take you where you want to go, and arrange things like transport and meals for your convenience. I wouldn't do a package because it's more interesting with local guides, they take you might not see if you don't ask, and the money goes straight into their own pockets.
