Tour Guide Tipping
 

What is the norm for tipping a tour guide / driver in Yogyakarta and in Bali? Thanks in advance for your advice.

And thanks to everyone here for your suggestions and feedback over the past several months. Leaving for Singapore a week from today and cannot wait! I'll make sure to post a trip report upon return.

It depends on if they're self employed or an employee of a company. In my experience the drivers in both places have been self-employed so paying the asking price or a bit more was sufficient.

In Yogyakarta, I'm using Wiedy Antara, and on Bali, Putu Arnawa, both recommended by posters here.

Also please let me know if you have recommendations on ATMs / where to exchange currency in Yogyakarta and in Ubud. Thanks.

There are plenty of ATMs in Yogyakarta, all the shopping centers have them. I flew into Solo City (and there was no ATM at that airport, just currency exchange.
