Tour company for trip to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia

Brother and I (52 & 56 but in excellent health, shape, workout, etc) want to take about a 17-21 day trip to above (travel time not included). Flying from San Francisco. I have always planned all trips but just do not have the time to do this. Any suggestions for basic, small group tour company? We are looking at Adventure Center, GAdventures....
We would like more activites and tours and less 'beach time'!
Thank you

Intrepid: http://www.intrepidtravel.com/

Peregrine: http://www.peregrineadventures.com/

I've traveled with Intrepid, not with Peregrine. Intrepid has very good itineraries. I'd avoid the Basix level unless you're really willing to rought it.

hikergal,

Just did basically the same trip. We did the trip independently and you can read some of my postings here.

Here's a Cliff Note version of our trip.

Flew EWR-HKG (3 Days) HKG-BKK (2 Days Then overnight train to Laos)

5 Days in Laos (Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang). Would definitely visit L.Prang.. You cna fly there from BKK.

Flew LPQ-HAN (3 Days.. Day Trip Halong Bay)
Flew HAN-SGN (4 Days.. Mekong Delta plus Cu Chi Tunnel)

Took bus SGN-PHM...(Killing Fields) 1 Night PHM.. Bus Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) 2 Nights.. Bus To BKK.

Flying saves alot of time but is expensive unless you plan ahead. Bus trip can be long but come with breaks and they are a good way to see the country.

Good luck with your planning. I am sure you will enjoy your trip no matter how you do it

vietnamstay/aurora travel is also very good for vietnam.

Are you looking for a "guided tour" (where you get on a bus every morning and get taken around) or just for someone to arrange all your hotel, intra-Asia air, and tour reservations for you?
