I like to do almost all of the things that she listed except...MBK...I detest the place. And I haven't taken a klong tour because I'm scared I'll get beyond motionsickness and don't want to end up spending the rest of the vacation at Bumrungrad.

A night of thai boxing has not been voted for yet. If you go to the puppet theatre its right next door and really worth a visit. Sit back in third class with all the local thais and have an experience like nothing else. Last time we went the cops got called in and some military guys too, because the promoter wasn't paying up on the bets. It was awesome! But then my wife was more excited about the dogs and cats walking around inside the stadium!

carol/guen...i just had a laugh to myself picturing the two of you in straight back chairs in a ward at the cracker factory, tied to the chairs for your own protection, but of course your new bags were on the upright of the chair nearby....two wacky dames!!!

Jenskar...Are you talking about the three separate, pouch bags that clip together by the shoulder strap? If so, then yes JT still makes it. That bag is a copy of the Parisian handbag designer,"Karine Dupont" whose boutique is in Paris on rue Cherche Midi in the 6th and only a few steps down the street from the famous Poilane bakery....same side of the street. I bought her bag back around 2003 I think it was in either Galeries Lafayette or Printemps when they were premiering it... before she had a boutique. The colors,styles,sizes,and shapes of her three-pouch bags are fabulous and will send you into hyperventilation. Happy Travels!

For years I avoided the Grand and Teak Palaces thinking they would be dreadful tourist traps .They are not .

I treated myself to a superb buffet breakfast at The Oriental on the river terrace then walked to the nearby ferry stop andup the river to the palace . I arrived by chance just before one of the free english guided tours and had an excellent time .The ticket included the Teak Palace which I thought remarkable and very beautiful .So my point is to not be put off by the thought of things being "too touristy .." as there is a reason why they are renown .

Next find out where the Thai boxing is on one night and go to see it .

And eat out and be adventurous but remember when a Thai menu describes something as "Spicey "that is code for " this will lift the top of your head off hot ".

5) MBK Shopping Mall
6) Get a massage 1-2 times a day.
