Tokyo one night - what to see?

We have a layover in Tokyo on our way to Singapore and Bali - arriving 4:50pm and taking off 10:50am the following morning, staying at a hotel in Narita. We figured it would be close to 6:30 - 7 by the time we check into the hotel, but would still love to go to Tokyo, as we have never been in Japan. Any suggestion of what to see/do/eat in two-three hours would be much appreciated. Our trip is in May.
Many thanks!

from Narita you can go to the Imperial Palace (close to Tokyo Station) and + Asakusa http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3004.html (old Tokyo) or Roppongi Hills http://www.roppongihills.com/tcv/en/ (new Tokyo).

Tokyo is still a ways away from Narita so you would have to take a train there and back probably 70 to 90 minutes each way depending on where you go and they stop after midnight.

If it were me and I wanted to get a taste of Japan at that time of the evening, I would stay in Narita town and take in some of whats in here:

But if you must go into Tokyo for the nightlife and I do love the nightlife, then I would suggest either heading to Shinjuku or the Ginza area for a while before heading back to Narita.

You can stay in Tokyo instead, go to kabuki, a splurge Kobe dinner, or have a lost-in-translation dinner/jazz/view experience at the Park Hyatt, then wander around crazy Shinjuku or tamer Ginza, get a few hours of sleep, then head to the tuna auction at Tsukiji Fish Market at 5am before heading back to Narita for your flight.
