Tokyo/Narita to hotel (carry-on luggage) transfer ?

Looking for the easiest way to get from Narita terminal 2 to hotel at Yatsuya (west of Imperial Palace). Two of us with checked carry-on sized bags and backpack. Not too worried about the cost, as we will be beat and want it easy. Thoughts? Hear there is a train, but you have to make a reservation and with a 13 hour flight that can be dicey! thanks so much

I take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station. I bought my ticket at a ticket counter in Narita Airport in July 2018 and was the only one in line. I then went to Tokyo Station (about an hour non-stop) as my hotel is a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station. But, since you have mentioned the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station is near the Imperial Palace. I don't know exactly where your hotel is, but you could take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station and then get a taxi to your hotel as there are plenty of taxis and they aren't that expensive.

Happy Travels!

Of course you could always book a car in advance.

Rideways is a service that books internationally. Take a look at Rideways.com

We booked them for a car from Heathrow to Kings Cross. I just did a quick check and they do book for Japan also

Check out this web page for all Narita options into Tokyo: https://www.narita-airport.jp/en/access#section-1

A car service will run between US$160 and $250. If your hotel is near a hotel stop for the Airport Limousine bus, it will cost about US$30pp, and then you can take a short taxi ride from there. Both these options are easy...they'll load your luggage and you just relax and enjoy the ride. The NEX (Narita Express) train is also easy, as Guenmai explained, but you do have to carry your luggage, and get outside to catch a cab.

Really, the best is to email your hotel and ask them how to get there. Trust me, they will know the various options. Tokyo is a big and sometimes confusing city (even to locals), so most hotels, shops and restaurants usually have this info under "location" on their web sites.

Which hotel? I think you mean it is in Yotsuya (not Yatsuya). To get to Yotsuya station take the Narita Express to Tokyo station and then a subway or JR Chuo train and then walk to hotel. Or the N'Ex to Tokyo station and then taxi to hotel. Or via Shinjuku. Or limo bus + taxi.

It won't be dicey getting a seat on the Narita Express. Everybody, is pretty much in the same situation of not really knowing when they will get to the station.

What mrwunrfl said. And if luggage is a concern, consider taking advantage of Japan’s excellent luggage forwarding option. It's called takuhaibin; here's the info:

It will depend on where your hotel is located as to whether it is closer to Tokyo station or Shinjuku station. Can just take the train from Narita to either station than taxi.
